Banksy

What can be said about Banksy? He brings a certain flair to the streets that hasn't been seen before. Some of my favorite pieces he has done have a certain kind of comedic aspect to them. Banksy also has a serious side to him where he uses his art to express his political outlooks on life and the way he feels about the changing of times.

Its not only the graffiti that attracts me to his work. Its the fact he is a vigilante for our time. My favorite stunt that he has ever done is the Paris Hilton CD prank. I've never heard of such an act of defiance or pure genius on his part. I also think it was a huge statement for him to make. To me it said "why are we giving attention to someone who isn't anything other than someone who is born into wealth? What has she accomplished? Why is she so renowned for absolutely nothing?" Honestly what has Paris Hilton ever done to contribute to society? Its people like Banksy who take that extra step to make their statement heard just a little louder and clearer that have had a true effect on the way I see the world.

Recently Banksy has made his mark at The Cans Festival in London along with several other graffiti artists from around the world. The Cans Festival is a three-day street party of stencil art, in an old tunnel formerly used by taxis, which was vacated when Eurostar left its Waterloo terminal in London.
