Connect the dots
Influential people come in many different forms. Never did I expect that one of the most life-changing bonds I made would be with a pony-tailed teenager from Germany that listened to punk rock and heavy metal. But blessings come in several different disguises as I would soon learn, and appearance did little to change the impact that they can have on someone. Under this exterior I would come to find a very empathetic and compassionate man, wise beyond his years. He taught me lessons of compassion and understanding which have shaped my understanding of humanity today. A bright and hopeful teen then, he is now a brilliant man who has truly amounted to every expectation that I’ve had of him and more. He currently works in a German university laboratory, doing research on stem cells for medical purposes while also practicing as a medical doctor.
