Dolly Parton

A woman, a guitar, a dream.

All conspired to create one of the most fascinating, charismatic, underestimated, and inspiring musicians to come out of Nashville Tennessee since Patsy, Loretta, or Tammy.

This woman with the coat of many colors grew up poor & dirty in the hills of the Appalachains with her brothers & sisters which numbered 14. She grew up to become an entertaining powerhouse with 3500+ songs under her belt, albums, movies, and even her own theme park (Dollywood)!

Why is she my hero? I believe the main reason I absolutely adore Dolly is because of her unwavering smile & her amazing ability to seem as though she's managed to capture the unabashed happiness of childhood. Dolly Parton just never gets angry. She never acts like a Diva. She never snubs fans or paparazzi.
She's just what she says: a poor country girl all dolled up to prove her worth.

I also have to applaud someone with the business sense she has. She's managed to engineer her empire with a seemingly flawless delivery. 3500+ songs supporting her throughout her life, and Dollywood garners thousands of visitors each year!

With all her hard work and success you'd think she'd act every bit the star, but she doesn't. While I never met the woman and can not vouch for this I tend to believe that if people are not what they seem, their fascade is revealed eventually.

Dolly Parton is my hero and lives up to the true sense of the word in every way!
