Yes We Can!
June 3rd 2008 marks the first day of a new beginning for America: Barack Obama claims the nomination for Democratic presidential nominee! The road to this momentous occasion was a long and hard one but through hard work and determination, Obama, the Democrat Senator of Illinois, was able to achieve the running for the highest position in US politics. Note that Barack Obama is the only African American to have ever made it this far and that he is at the same age as JFK was when was elected president. I feel that America needs a fresh, young mind in charge and Obama is the perfect choice because he has exactly what we need.
Barack Obama is a very cultured person, having been born from a Kenyan father and American mother, spending time in Hawaii and Indonesia as a child. In addition, he has a degree from the heralded Columbia University and a law degree from Harvard. During the time after receiving his bachelor’s degree, Obama worked as a community organizer for the city of Chicago. After he received his law degree, he spent time as part of a voter registration campaign and began to write his first book. After this he has been an Illinois State Senator, a board member for a group which specializes in supplying grants to disadvantaged people and communities, a college professor, a lawyer, and now a US Senator for the state of Illinois. In other words he has the experience to lead this country in the right direction!
His major goals as president are to find a graceful way to end the Iraq situation, increasing energy independence and providing a universal health care plan for all Americans. These motives, combined with his track record by fighting against lobbying, electoral fraud and nuclear terrorism and his support for environmental policies make him the best candidate we can have for what our country is going through. Barack Obama is the person we need to lead our country forward!
