“How can you stop what's coming... when you don't know anything about power?”

The Hunger

Gabriel Gray was a watchmaker with the extraordinary ability of intuitive aptitude, or having the insight to see how things work and fit together. Wanting to amount to more than his family’s humble prospects, Gabriel feels that he is special and deserved greater things in life, and these feelings increase once he realizes his ability and as such, he takes the name Sylar, taken from the brand of watch he wears, and sheds his former personality. In addition to this he realizes he can take the abilities of other superhumans through a process in which he removes the victims brains while they’re still alive, and killing them through the process. Realizing he grows stronger which each superhuman he kills in this manner, he becomes a serial killer who seeks out evolved humans to acquire their abilities. The earliest known power he has acquired, and the most lethal thus far, is telekinesis, which he took from Brian Davis. Later in the series he begins to lose control of his homicidal tendencies for killing others and remove their brains, though he also has a side of him that realizes it is wrong to cause harm to innocent people. Through his adventures, he has acquired many powers through his slaughtering and met several evolved humans who have attempted to stop him.

Patient Zero

During the beginning of his adventures, he is studied by a scientist named Chandra Suresh, who studies the evolutionary status of these superhumans. He was given the title Patient Zero by Chandra, as he was the first person to be tested for evolved genes. Sylar finds a list of others that Chandra is seeking to help and beings to kill them one by one for their powers behind his back until eventually Chandra discovers this but is killed by Sylar before he can stop him.

Sylar is a horrible guy, evil. I do understand his feelings of wanting to be important and special, but I find it ridiculous that he thinks he has the right to take other peoples lives to satisfy his urge to be special.
