Computers for people
Apple has come a long way since it was graced with Steve Jobs in the 80’s. After gaining several years of experience working for gaming giants Atari and Nintendo, Jobs found his true calling after joining Apple and releasing the Mac in 1984, thus creating beginnings of the “personal computer” as we know it today. The controversial figure departed from Apple for a few years only to return as the CEO and this is truly where he began to take center stage. Introducing products like the iMac, iPod and iTunes, Jobs gave apple a much needed face left and new focus, making Apple products the mainstream instead of in the shadow of the IBM style PCs. In addition to his unique business practices, Jobs’ listed salary from Apple is only 1$ a year, even as CEO! Don’t think this makes him a martyr though by any means, he is well supplied with stocks and often given “executive gifts” from the Apple board for his efforts for the advancement of the company.
