It’s quite a title, especially for someone who has never been in politics, but there is a reason for it. Oprah is the epitome of overcoming adversity to become a self-made person. In our society, attention is often given to the men that have changed and shaped history, but we all know that whether they get the attention or not, no strong man would be possible without a strong woman around. Oprah has practically transformed herself into a one-woman empire since, despite facing sexual abuse, teenage pregnancy, and a very strict and otherwise tough upbringing and is now a central figure in the media, representing both women and African-Americans. She is a powerhouse whom is feared by those that disagree with her and respected greatly by her legions of fans.
